In Ceglie Messapica, Valle d’Itria, in the Apulian Brindisi province, there is a truly special place. We are speaking of the Fikus B&B, run by the Italian couple Luisa and Francesco, former emigrants who met in Brussels. There, after having formed a couple, they decided to come back home once again and try to realize their dream: opening a bed & breakfast in Puglia, their beloved native region.
Fikus, the B&B they have recently opened, is a hymn of love to their native Puglia, to a slow, relaxing holiday style. A modern trullo from where TV has been completely banished. Guests, anyway, can rely on a generous amount of book-crossing volumes scattered in every room and, of course, on the Wi-Fi.
The couple runs a real Apulian B&B where guests can enjoy perfect relaxation moments lounging beneath an olive tree or sipping a wine glass along the pool. Touches of innovation, though, have been necessary. Guests will enjoy, for instance, exclusive wellness treatments by the Chez Vous Start Up Spa, or taste the exquisite dishes prepared by the Food Sud System Collective, a unique blend of culinary tradition and contemporary design.

Lamia 84, on the other hand, features a wholly white interior décor, a homage to Puglia and its traditions.
Travel-themed Lamia 79 features a minimalist, industrial style representing – at least in part – a tiny piece of all the cities Luisa and Francesco have visited around the world.
In this beautiful Apulian B&B it is possible to plan bike excursions and olive harvesting expeditions, kitchen workshops and meetings for young start-uppers. Italian, English and French are the main spoken languages. Vintage flea markets and poetry readings a few steps away from the seashore, next to some of Italy’s most interesting archaeological sites, are among the guests’ favorite occupations. People come here to experience an unforgettable holyday, comfortably pampered amidst true Southern cuisine and a touch of contemporary design.
