A mix of suggestions in the new bathroom by ‘Ragno’, with parquet-effect slats to combine with decorated tiles

Gres porcelain with wood and concrete effect has surely been among the most successful trends at Cersaie 2017. A kind of floor and wall cladding that allows to add character to our homes by employing finishings that faithfully reproduce the tactile and visual features of its inspirational materials, at the same time maintaining porcelain-like performances, managing to create fascinating, resistant unglazed porcelain floorings.

Do you love the warm ambience of wood, and dream a gres porcelain bathroom with parquet effect, or would rather prefer the contemporary elegance of concrete?

If you happen to be still undecided as to which cladding to choose, here is a selection of ideas coming straight from the most prestigious brands in the industry.

Marazzi and Ragno interpret both trends – wood/concrete effect tiles – by introducing in their catalogues bathroom flooring novelties that play with the both of them, with a wide range of different tile sizes and colors. While Marazzi, in order to evoke the compactness of concrete surfaces, employs a big size slabs in the Grande (‘Big’, editor’s note) collection, the laying of parquet offers the inspiration for the wood-blocks format in the Treverklife series.

With the “E’ legno” (‘It’s wood’, editor’s note) advertising slogan, 14oraitaliana offers a new, original interpretation to the most classic of materials. The collection is available in three color versions – Latte (Milk), Rame (Copper), and Cenere (Ash) – arranged either as slabs or as squarish blocks reproducing spruce woodgrain. In addition to this, the company’s booth displayed a series of floor finishings inspired by the nuances of resin and concrete.

Nid by Atlas Concorde recalls the appearance of oak parquet, reproducing stunningly natural-looking knots and woodgrain. The collection has been extended with the addition of a new, strongly characterized 3D wall cladding inspired by cross-section wood blocks. The result is a vibrant wall featuring beautiful plays of light and shadows.

Cerdisa extend their EC1 collection by presenting at Cersaie the new Wood version, a new pattern inspired by woodgrain and created to match the series’ five leading colors: White, Beige, Anthracite, Bronze, and Grey. For a modern parquet-effect.

In addition to the Marble Boutique collection, Ricchetti introduces Maison, an elegant ceramic series inspired by different kinds of luxury wood, selected in order to transform the bathroom into a sophisticated, unique setting. The wood-block shape assures a perfect parquet-effect. Among bathroom laminate floorings, this one is available in two different sizes.

Gigacer, too, focuses on creating a contamporary beton-effect by drawing inspiration from buildings designed by Le Corbusier. Neutral-colored gres porcelain floorings, a true homage to the great master’s typically minimalist aesthetics. A range of claddings conceived for sober, contemporary settings.

The installation Crossing Roads by Emilgroup displays a perfect likeness to wood and features ceramic collections by Viva, one of the group’s brands. A cross-sectional set up intersecting different kinds of surfaces with multi-texture effects and modern parquets, ranging from printed leather to slate.

With the new Take collection, Lea Ceramiche interprets the latest trends of interior design by focusing on spatulate, recalling both resin and concrete floorings. The cladding is made of big, thin slabs enriched by iridescent effects obtained by introducing materials with different reflection qualities.

Iris Ceramica, too, has been infected by the passion for concrete-looking flooring. At Cersaie the brand has presented the new Quayside collection, including both floor installation and wall cladding. The series provides the possibility to bring back industrial style into contemporary domestic environments, including creative contaminations that add a new twist to concrete, resin and wood, in keeping with the latest aesthetic trends.
