How to decorate today the bathroom? The more intimate space of the house is more and more a place of experimentation and research and the solutions offered by the catalogs of companies, rich in copyright projects, are many and varied.

They range from coatings, ranging from natural materials up to the most innovative new generation, new technologies applied in the world of wellness through the bathroom furniture and sanitary signed by renowned designers. How then to choose? Here are some of the most interesting examples of modern bathrooms and design made in contemporary homes selected by Elle Decor.

Watchword minimalism: total white, neutral colors, lack of accessories, regularity of the spaces and the linear geometry of the forms characterize all the bathroom (photo below). Sanitary, mirrors, sinks and containers comply with a single mood: try not to appear. If you like classic but modern bathrooms, even the White Statuary of Carrara marble used as a coating for shower, built-in bathtub and washstand gives rigor and elegance to the bathroom (photo below). Another possible solution for a bathroom by the essential design is that of game contrasts. A clean, monochromatic, minimalist room can be violated by the use of black. An example? The Vieques bathtub freestanding - black version - designed by Patricia Urquiola for Agape (learn more → Restyling of a bourgeois house in Toulouse). A refined object from the retro look that monopolizes attention. In this bathroom environment (photo below) there is a duality of opposing styles together: minimal style and the gray tones alternate with accents and furnishings in natural birch wood.

Do you want to optimize space? It is necessary if it is to renovate an apartment of only 35 sq m like the little house in the heart of Geneva (learn more → Ideas for a micro dwelling in the heart of Switzerland). The choice of glass as a material for the walls that separate the bedroom and the hallway of the toilet from the living is cautious: allow natural light coming through a large window that opens onto a balcony, to reach any corner of the micro structure is fundamental. In this way the box dedicated to the bath (picture below) acquires space for the lack of opaque borders.

Building on the built is another alternative. Original the choice of the study CUT that to restructure a nineteenth-century Paris apartment (learn more → Modular furniture for a house in the center of Paris) played by coupling existing materials in new and renovated technology. The parquet floors, on one hand, the other mirrored glass sheets. The bathroom, hidden behind a fixed display, allows the passage of natural light and maintains the privacy of the environment toilet (photo below).

The ensuite bathroom. Bohemian charm combined with comfort and relaxation can characterize the bathroom area of a master bedroom. The basins area - more accessible and less private - can function as a filter area between the two environments (photo below). An example? This bathroom light gray resin of an apartment in the heart of Barcelona (learn more → House Studio in a '900 palace). Showering and health, delimited by a sliding door, are in a separate environment that brings natural light into the bedroom - via a fixed window over the door -.
