India Mahdavis’ new, ethnic style table collection for Monoprix brings joy and color into the home

A constantly amazing, ethnic, colorful, lively and cheerful style. A prolific design encompassing a variety of categories, from furnishings to accessories, from design objects to textiles. This is India Mahdavi’s signature style: a versatile architect-designer that, for next season, has just tested herself with an ample, multi-faceted project for the major French retail chain Monoprix. Ms. Mahdavi has just signed a collection of 110 products for an original, unique setting focusing on an ethnic style table: from dishes to crockery, from cushions to tablecloths and cabinets, where velvet and ceramic are often stylishly juxtaposed.

In order to launch this captivating new line, celebrating colors and ethnic furnishings, a new pop-up store has been inaugurated in Rue de Sevigné – in the heart of Paris third Arrondissement – from 17 to 19 November - promoting dozens of gift ideas with prices ranging from 8 to 88 euros. From November 22, on the other hand, the new collection is available in every Monoprix store. Ideas that fully express the designer signature style, which stands out for its bold genre combinations, mixing Pop and ethnic styles from the East to Africa – to address a multilingual, cosmopolitan audience.

In this collection, like in the previous ones, we can find all the distinctive features of the Iranian artist. First of all her passion for strong, vibrant colors and their expressive, evocative power: no room for pale nuances or monochromatic patterns, green light to bold juxtapositions. Another striking feature is the designer’s tendency to combine different materials, ranging from velvet to ceramic. Mahdavi is also famous for her predilection for wood combined with metal, and the tendency to toy with wicker and glaze to create essentially tactile, materic objects, playful and functional at the same time. Whoever is up for color and fantasy this winter, therefore, won’t surely be disappointed. Our “Queen of colors” has a solution for any desire.
