Anyone who is lucky enough to have a big front garden might have certainly wondered whether a pool should be added or not. This kind of decision, in fact, usually implies long lasting works and high costs. In the last few years, however, new, alternative solutions have made their appearance, new devices that include a stunning aesthetics, revolutionizing the design of the traditional above ground pool starting from the need for more functionality. Canadian company Modpools, for example, has displayed a high degree of creativity by designing a big garden basin built from old shipping containers, converting them ad hoc.

The structural rigidity of the containers – their outward coloring is customizable on demand – enables to erect a pool in a very short time, perfectly equipped with a side window to create a funny old TV screen effect. That is not all, though. From a simple tank, the pool can transform itself into a real spa by means of an interior partition, which gives the opportunity to employ exclusively this portion during the cold season, by simply setting the “hot tub” mode.

Modpools above ground pools settings, such as water temperature, jet mode and color variations during chromotherapy, can be easily operated via smartphone. More demanding users can turn the former container into a total spa, complete with hydro-massage, hot water and adjustable jet nozzles set along the whole length of the pool. Is this the ultimate pool of the future?
