Outdoor cupboards, the best models for gardens and terraces
Multipurpose and elegant, technological and functional, cupboards for outdoor spaces are champions of durability and versatility. Discover how to choose them
Laerte by Unopiù is characterised by a timeless design, exalted by the graphite-colour finish. Its interior is spacious and includes three shelves and a convenient two-tier section
Elegance knows neither season nor location, and designer outdoor cupboards prove it. Realised with care and attention to detail, having the most diverse shapes and using the most durable materials, they are veritable décor complements exalting every corner of the garden or terrace. These outdoor furniture pieces are the ideal place to store in a single spot, gardening kits, kitchen utensils, cushions, or the mise en place for an alfresco dinner. They are not inferior to indoor collections; in fact, when needed, they look great even inside the home. Whether made of aluminium, PVC, or wood, they are treated to withstand weather, temperature range, and the damage caused by moulds and fungi. We have selected 5 models, different in shape, size, and finish, to help you find your ideal article.
The first of these garden furniture pieces is from Unopiù, and it is named after Ithaca’s mythical king, the father of Ulysses. Perfectly poised between rigour and practicality, it stands out for its large capacity and its frame, realised entirely in galvanised iron and powder coated in a graphite colour, combined with tinted polycarbonate panels. The result is a classic-style cupboard, with timeless finishes that require very little maintenance and give the exterior décor a welcoming look.
Composed of a single material and characterised by elegant and essential lines, the garden cupboard Garden Drawer Unit by Röshults is realised entirely in stainless steel powder coated in an anthracite colour. It features four compact-size slots for extra storage space in a piece that adds a touch of modernity to the house exteriors.
The lightness of aluminium combines with the warmth and solidity of teak in Credenza, a modern outdoor furniture element designed by the Kettal Studio. Its polychromic character makes it a prized piece that matches every taste, style, and atmosphere.
The trunk T-Box by Ethimo also relies on the quality and durability of teak. The essential lines of this outdoor storage trunk are combined with a timeless pickled finish, achieving a modern and shabby look. Treated to withstand the weather and UV rays, wood is the undisputed star in this piece, while the 75-cm depth affords plenty of storage space.
La Malle by DEDON, with a volume of 1.58 m3, is the last of the cupboards we present in this quick, yet diverse, overview. Designed by Lorenza Bozzoli and the Kings, with a distinctly ‘fashion’ approach, it stands out for the surprising refinement of the materials utilised. The frame consists of powder-coated aluminium pipes, and its interior is lined in Ferrari Batyline® breathable fabric. Through its distinctive handwoven exterior, this piece is capable of transforming outdoor spaces into fascinating and very special spots.
