The charm of Australian lifestyle is in the air: the celebrated industrial designer Adam Goodrum has recently signed Trace, a new outdoor furniture collection for Tait.

Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman’s Australia’s intensely red earth. Steep headlands towering over the blue ocean. Surfists’ waves. The dark blue of the night. Colors and textures explore all of these spaces, tenderly digging into memories: family barbecues and children’s long afternoons. This is the spirit of the latest collection by the enfant prodige of Australian industrial design. Its DNA is made of sophisticated design, comfort and simple elegance.

The new outdoor lounge collection Trace is made of a wide range of different pieces including sofas, armchairs, tables and drinks trolleys. Versatility and functionality allow a variety of spatial configurations, from central compositions to corner arrangements. High quality materials and artisanal attention to detail make each of these pieces the ideal furnishing solution for outdoor areas as well as for semi-indoor spaces. Perfect for entertaining guests, elegantly sitting by the pool – or on a rooftop terrace, or in a lounge – the Trace garden collection celebrates the allure of true Australian outdoor lifestyle.

The Trace collection stands out for the preciousness of its materials besides its peculiar design solutions. The thin timber legs of the Trace sofa are inserted into its tubular aluminum frame, where a flexible wire netting supports the sofa’s cloud-like cushioning. Marbled porcelain and wood add a tactile touch to the Trace coffee tabletops, available in different sizes and geometrical shapes. A taste of playful irony – one of Goodrum’s distinguishing marks – is traceable in the oversized wheels of the drinks trolleys.

With the Trace outdoor lounge collection, Adam Goodrum reinforces a poetics made of both functionality and a high aesthetic sensitivity – the same fil rouge connecting his projects for Cappellini, Normann Copenhagen and Veuve Clicquot – adding for the occasion a further touch of elegance and sophistication.
