A fresh new book by the founder of Designers Guild
At IMM Cologne the outdoor spring by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia
The Italian firm launches at Cologne's fair three new collections to live “en plein air” in elegance and comfort
At IMM Cologne B&B Italia new catalogue, focussing on the outdoor theme. The successful Ray series designed by Antonio Citterio becomes an outdoor collection available in the two variants Ray Outdoor Natural and Ray Outdoor Fabric, in five colours
The comfortable seating furniture of the Ray Outdoor Fabric collection, a B&B Italia new product presented in Cologne, features a "ribbon" weave in polypropylene fibre, which resists UV rays and atmospheric agents
Perfect for elegantly furnishing outdoor spaces, the Ray Outdoor Fabric collection includes armchairs, two-depths sofas, and modular elements like terminal sofas and chaises longues, which allow great compositional freedom
Inspired by classical outdoor furniture in natural rope, the Ray Outdoor Natural collection is characterised by sober shades and a braided texteline upholstering
Modular and versatile, the chairs and sofas of the new B&B Italia Ray Outdoor Natural collection were created to live "en plein air" in style and comfort
With the Ray Outdoor Natural seating series, Antonio Citterio takes outdoor B&B Italia's distinctive know-how and focus on form
Erica, the new collection designed by Antonio Citterio, includes sofa, armchair, and chair, also available in stackable version. B&B Italia chose the furniture materials specifically for outdoor use
The Erica series, designed by Antonio Citterio, satisfies specific ergonomic and environmental adaptability criteria. The frames, realised in a mix of extruded and die-cast painted aluminium, combine with weaved polypropylene strips
The Erica collection comes in three basic colours: white, turtledove, and anthracite, which recur also in the series dining chairs. Alternatively, B&B Italia provides the sinuously-shaped Ginestra teak armchairs
Antonio Citterio also designs the round and rectangular tables of the Ginestra series, B&B Italia's new furniture for the outdoor dining area. They feature structural details and tabletop drawings in natural teak with central inserts in white porcelain stoneware
2017 has barely begun, and B&B Italia starts the new year focussing on furniture for the garden and external spaces. The Italian firm presents at IMM Cologne three new collections dedicated to outdoor furniture by Antonio Citterio. The goal? Moving to the garden or terrace the design quality, comfort, and refined aesthetics of the indoor furniture by B&B Italia.
First innovation: Ray seating system is completely revised for outdoor use. Two distinct families of outdoor furniture, Natural and Fabric, have been developed from the original designs for interiors by Antonio Citterio. They have in common a light structure in extruded aluminium but feature different materials and colours.
Ray Outdoor Natural seeks harmony with nature and is characterised by the braided rope pattern, realised in stable and sturdy texteline, which suits the outside setting. Ray Outdoor Fabric features the compact "ribbon" plot that upholsters the frames of sofas and armchairs. The material used is polypropylene fibre, which, exposed to UV rays and atmospheric agents, preserves untouched the series colours: turquoise to dark blue, acid green to turtledove, all the way to bordeaux.
The strong suit of Erica collection's armchair, sofa, and chair is the lightness and transparency of their painted aluminium frames. The seating comfort of the series, specifically developed for outdoor use, suggests pairing with padded cushions upholstered with weaved strips of durable polypropylene fibre. The shades chosen by Citterio, all intermixable, are white, turtledove, and anthracite.
B&B Italia's 2017 outdoor catalogue could not do without new and elegant external dining tables. The Ginestra series, provided with matching chairs, includes large-size rectangular and round models with natural teak tops characterised by sophisticated drawings and central inserts in calacatta white porcelain stoneware.
