Which are the most beautiful hotel rooms in the world? The experts from the AHEAD Awards give us an answer. Every two years, they designate the winners – one for every geographical area – of the hotel sector around the world. It is not easy to meet the needs of international guests, and we know that when we are on holiday or on a business trip, for a few days, our hotel room becomes our home, a place that should match our taste and respond to our expectations.
That’s why hotels try to personalise their offer and remove the neutral patina that has characterised the hospitality sector for years. Today’s travellers want to feel at home everywhere, meet locals, participate into or create communities, and their hotel room has to reflect this new way of travelling.
Here are the most beautiful hotel room chosen this year
EUROPE | At Six, Stockholm, Sweden
The rooms of At Six Stockholm, designed by Universal Design Studio, have been appreciated for the clever use of space, the functional arrangement of the furniture, the materials utilised, and, most of all, for the original and spot-on colour palette adding emphasis and personality to the interiors. The combination of furniture elements, including many classical pieces from the middle of the last century, is very interesting. The custom-made cocktail corner is a detail that personalises the room to the fullest.

AMERICAS | Arlo SoHo, New York, USA
It is Manhattan, and here space is very precious, Arlo SoHo was conceived with quirky but intelligent rooms that make a perfect use of the available space. The interiors feature a minimalist style, which, due to the plentiful use of wood, becomes warm and cosy. These are small quarters that nevertheless respond to the needs of a dynamic clientele, dynamic like this big city, a vivid presence inside the rooms, thanks to the large windows that invite the skyline in.
ASIA | Akyra Manor Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand
In a perfect balance between East and West, the hotel provides guestrooms – featuring dark walls for an emphatic and dramatic look – arranged around a central, luminous, Zen patio. A simple in & out system that works perfectly combining two different styles in a harmonious way. Clean lines and urban feeling complete the interior design of this guestroom housed in this masterpiece hotel of the Thai capital.
Middle East and Africa |Jumeirah Al Naseem Dubai, UAE
The guestrooms of the Jumeirah Al Naseem, by Dsgn Design Studio, have been won the award for their flexibility and space design. Sliding screens enable to create additional separate areas inside the room. A detail that didn’t go unnoticed by the jury is the versatility of the interiors and exteriors - terraces merge with the lounge and the bathrooms provide a spa-like experience.
