Essential restyling of a house in London

New spaces and elements of furniture with a strong personality, for a family house full of charm and comfort in Highgate

A restoration project, signed by Architects and interior design studio Dedraft, who has transformed a house plant to give shape to a functional and stylish family retreat in Highgate, north London.

The project renovated the first floor and the central staircase of a very British-looking property, optimizing space and creating charming rooms, comfort and breath.

Thanks to some modifications of the plant a practical bathroom could be added adjacent to the master bedroom, attached to it and to the landing thanks to a double entrance. Great attention has also been paid to the continuity of space: an elegant oak parquet across all major areas of the first floor, giving a feeling of warmth and sophistication. Pocket doors high ceiling allow the rooms to look as spacious and comfortable.

Each bathroom is characterized by a precise nature: in that of the master bedroom, a floor of lava rock slabs Pyrolave, a shower decorated with glass tiles handmade Emery & Cie, a vanity Corian tailored and classic tubular lights Lefroy Wall Brooks, while another room is decorated with Fired Earth, marble tiles on the walls, a spa Albion from the air a little 'retro and a French recovery basin.

Each room of the house has a distinct personality. In the one connected to the master bedroom, more contemporary influences thanks to a large walk-in shower and a mobile-sink Corian.

Retro atmosphere enhanced by the timeless charm of a claw-foot bathtub and a French sink vintage.

In the master bedroom, dull gray cabinets full height, sliding doors and niches containing sensitive LED lights. An idea of sophisticated simplicity and spectacular furnishings complete the project.

Currently the studio is working on a new chapter of this work of restoration, yet another metamorphosis that should provide for the construction of a basement from the concrete walls and the addition of new, elegant, Venetian floors.
