Winter sales 2017, our selection of 15 luxury shopping addresses

Winter sales 2017 have officially started on January 5th. In order to avoid being involved in the mass hysteria that generally accompanies the occasion and get marvelous discounts surrounded by beautiful settings, we have selected a list of the most stunning Italian stores – starting from Milan, of course, and including unmissable addresses in Florence, Rome, Venice and Courmayeur as well. For those who are still on holiday and don’t want to miss a thing.

For those who wish to do the whole of their shopping at the same address, this year’s big novelty is represented by Scalo Milano: 130 shops, easily reachable from the city center for what is meant to become Milan’s first shopping district for anything high-end Made in Italy related (read also →Scalo Milano).

The famous “fashion Quadrilatero”, too, joins winter sales at its best with the new Dolce&Gabbana boutique by French designer Gwenael Nicolas in Via Montenapoleone (read also → Il nuovo negozio di Dolce&Gabbana a Milano); the new Marni flagship store, born from the collaboration between fashion designer Consuelo Castiglioni and architect Luz Maria Jaramillo, also in Via Montenapoleone (read also → Un nuovo indirizzo di moda a Milano); So Milano nogender multibrand store, which has newly brought experimental fashion into the city (read also → Il nuovo negozio SO Milano); the Premiata Calzature Boutique, conceived by Vincenzo De Cotiis as a beautiful blend of transparent surfaces, mirrors, contrasting materials and colors (read also →L'architettura di Vincenzo De Cotiis incontra il retail).

Among the Milanese latest novelties, Etro has recently transformed its Milan store in a contemporary, sophisticated setting featuring spicy hues, mixing huge vegetable twines and tropical inspirations, highlighting and boosting all of India’s visual strength (read also →C'è un negozio Etro a Milano che non avete mai visto) while the unmissable Fornasetti Store offers its 600 sqm space to nostalgics and new fans of the great artist and decorator (read also → Il nuovo Fornasetti Store).

We literally end in style with the Aesop fagship store by Dimorestudio, a tribute to early 1900s Italian design (read also→ Dimorestudio firma il secondo negozio di Aesop a Milano) and the exotic Avery Perfume Gallery, where you will be swept away by a mixture of perfumes, brocades and beautiful design objects (read also →A Milano un'esotica boutique).

What about the other cities?

The new Venetian luxury shopping addresses are most certainly the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, an ancient palace turned into a department store designed by none other than Rem Koolhaas (read also →Rem Koolhaas firma a Venezia la rinascita del Fiondaco dei Tedeschi) and the Armani luxury hub at the Arsenale (read also →Armani arreda la boutique di Venezia con la collezione casa).

While the trendiest, most up to date Florence chose the new terrace of Luisaviaroma as its most fashionable point of attraction, recently designed by Patricia Urquiola as a socially oriented open air lounge (read also→Patricia Urquiola per Luisaviaroma), Rome presents Red Valentino, a new, beautiful store designed by India Mahdavi (read also→Red Valentino a Roma).

Finally, as promised, the perfect address for the most unrepentant holyday makers is G&B, a new, Courmayeur-based luxury store by studio Baciocchi e Associati where the transparency of Alpine glaciers and the summer green of the valleys have been turned into crystals, mirrors, brasses and the bright colors of calf hair patchwork rugs (read also→Mobili colorati e interni eleganti a Courmayeur).

If you don’t wish to face the usual seething crowd during your winter sales shopping, there are brilliant online discounts ready for you: qui you’ll find a selection of 10 addresses to get in touch with the best online shopping, focusing on design… and much more.
