For those who wish to do the whole of their shopping at the same address, this year’s big novelty is represented by Scalo Milano: 130 shops, easily reachable from the city center for what is meant to become Milan’s first shopping district for anything high-end Made in Italy related (read also →Scalo Milano).

We literally end in style with the Aesop fagship store by Dimorestudio, a tribute to early 1900s Italian design (read also→ Dimorestudio firma il secondo negozio di Aesop a Milano) and the exotic Avery Perfume Gallery, where you will be swept away by a mixture of perfumes, brocades and beautiful design objects (read also →A Milano un'esotica boutique).
What about the other cities?
The new Venetian luxury shopping addresses are most certainly the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, an ancient palace turned into a department store designed by none other than Rem Koolhaas (read also →Rem Koolhaas firma a Venezia la rinascita del Fiondaco dei Tedeschi) and the Armani luxury hub at the Arsenale (read also →Armani arreda la boutique di Venezia con la collezione casa).
While the trendiest, most up to date Florence chose the new terrace of Luisaviaroma as its most fashionable point of attraction, recently designed by Patricia Urquiola as a socially oriented open air lounge (read also→Patricia Urquiola per Luisaviaroma), Rome presents Red Valentino, a new, beautiful store designed by India Mahdavi (read also→Red Valentino a Roma).
Finally, as promised, the perfect address for the most unrepentant holyday makers is G&B, a new, Courmayeur-based luxury store by studio Baciocchi e Associati where the transparency of Alpine glaciers and the summer green of the valleys have been turned into crystals, mirrors, brasses and the bright colors of calf hair patchwork rugs (read also→Mobili colorati e interni eleganti a Courmayeur).
