Planning a long weekend in the Big Apple avoiding touristic attractions and places you have already seen is not always easy. Designer Christopher Jenner, who is often in town for work and his personal projects, tells us what to do in New York Cityin a virtual voyage to his favourite spots. Here is his TOP 10!

Where to have breakfast
At Cafe Select, 212 Lafayette Street, the eggs Roman style are unmissable.

Or at Bubbys, in Tribeca or on the Highline. It is a must, you have to taste their pancakes and thin fritters.

A nice walk...
Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge to get to Red Hook is always charming. This area of the city is really special and not flooded by tourists. Columbia street is full of bars and restaurants, small shops and hidden corners to discover.

A place for having lunch

The recently opened Atla restaurant run by skilled Chef Enrique Olvera, who previously was at the stoves of the famous Pujol restaurant in Mexico City. Cheese and mushrooms omelette and guacamole are a must-try.

A theatre

The Lincoln Centre, a complex of buildings with a magnificent architecture between Columbus Avenue and Amsterdam Avenue in the Upper West Side, Manhattan. A place of worship for lovers of classical music and opera.

A cinema
The Metrograph, probably the coolest cinema in the world. You just need popcorn and a drink to take a trip back in time with the great movie classics that made cinema history.

A place for having dinner
The Augustine restaurant, recently opened by famous restaurateur Keith McNally. The interiors are gorgeous and the food amazing, especially spaghetti with sea urchins.

Nightlife
At Sanatorium (photo below), a super cool place in the East Village, where the nostalgics of Italy can try the best Negroni in New York, in a bar with a retro style.

Otherwise at Boom Boom Room, a terrace overlooking the entire city frequented by stars and celebs.
