Rodin's Sculptures Find a Sweet Sojourn in the 5-Star Scene of London

Sensorial sweets at the Rosewood London reinterpret the French artist’s most famous sculptures to celebrate the upcoming exhibit at the British Museum

I dolci del pasticciere Mark Perkins del Rosewood London, ispirati alle sculture di Rodin

Rodin fans will be delighted to discover a special treat at the five star Rosewood London this spring, as Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins unveils sculptural sweets in anticipation for the British Museum’s “Rodin and the Art of Ancient Greece”, set to open April 26th. Following the success of the hotel’s most recent creative endeavor, Art Afternoon Tea, Perkins will be rolling out multi-sensorial creations inspired by the extraordinary French artist’s most famous sculptures with Rodin Afternoon Tea.

Concept house Studio Appétit, together with celebrated pastry chef Mark Perkins, gives life to a delicious collaboration showcasing the masterpieces of Rodin in a new light. Immersed in an artistic atmosphere, guests are welcomed at the Rosewood London’s Mirror Room among the delicate sounds of chiseled chocolate and French music. Infused with floral aromas and spices inspired by Auguste Rodin, the artisan chocolate is wrapped in shimmering crystalized violets. Guests will also be invited to a special performance and are free to take home remains of the chocolate creations in an exclusive mini-confection emblazoned with the Rosewood seal.

Meanwhile, traditional afternoon tea will be offered to diners with a refined mix of Mariage Frères, in an homage to Rodin’s French origins, paired with mini sandwiches and scones fresh from the oven. Among the Rodin-inspired sculptural sweets, be sure to try The Kiss, featuring two intertwined fragments of marble chocolate embraced around a glazed mouse. Another favorite, The Thinker, is reproduced in a vertical chocolate tower, sitting atop a sablé base of chocolate.

Rodin Afternoon Tea will be available for the entire duration of the exhibit, from April 26th - July 29th, 2018.
