Table lamps and fashion: an unexpected affair

On the occasion of the Milano Design Week, 120% unveils Matteo Tosi’s latest collection in the brand’s flagship store on Corso Garibaldi

What do table lamps got to do with the fashion world? Well, ask 120%, the Italian leading brand specialised in linen and cashmere clothing whose flagship store set on Corso Garibaldi is due to host the launch of Matteo Tosi’s latest lighting collection over the days of Milano Design Week.

Apart from a strong inclination towards wild creativity and aesthetic research, both the young promising architect – who already worked with prestigious brands like O luce, Lema and Roda – and the Made in Italy fashion company share a solid love for design. Now that Euroluce, the International Lighting Exhibition, is stealing the show in Milan, we really can’t think of a better occasion to celebrate the fashion/lighting design symbiotic dialogue through the innovative light pieces by Matteo Tosi.

If 120%’s products are widely known for the finely tailored design and precious fabrics, also the desk lamps soon-to-be-showed at FuoriSalone rely on ultra-selected materials such as marble, glass and refined steel.

Quite different from each other both intention and look-wise, two distinctive models will be on display as everyday small-sized sculptures. C_Lamp, the table lamp radiating a feminine and narcissistic feel, blends the lighting and ornamental functions all in one: made of brass and mirrored glass, it is a lamp and flower vase at the same time. Instead, M_Lamp shows off a hint of masculinity thanks to its robust and bolder design, with a larger glass frame meant to store small items like pens or coins.
