Style, aesthetics, form. For Porada these have never been just words, nor have they ever - such as in fashion, which can sometimes be ephemeral - dominated the design and production of the collections that have written the history of the brand.

Those who love the timeless Porada style, which ismodern yet built to last, know this only too well: and in any case, Porada is, first and foremost, a company with strong ties to the tradition of the Brianza area. Since 1968, it has built up its own image, refusing to seek approval from the masses, and building a strong, contemporary identity around solid wood - and its infinite beauty.

It is not surprising that the company has grown considerably over the years and that it has won important awards, especially internationally, interpreting an all‑Italian taste and style which have successfully reached beyond the geographical boundaries.

This is due to the company’s conscious decision not to resemble other design companies, by focusing on the skilful use of natural materials and a high level of craftsmanship. This is why the Allievi family, rather than relying on famous names for the creative part of its business, has selected a small group of designers who could interpret the DNA of the company, bringing it forward into the present with furniture and furnishings designed to fit in perfectly with the Porada collections, reinforcing the identity of the brand.

One of the brand’s historic partnerships is that established with Tarcisio Colzani, a well‑known designer who has been working with Porada for over 30 years, and has fathered hugely successful products such as Cuccagna, an extremely versatile system of columns that can be equipped with accessories for home interiors, and the Garbo armchair.

Another familiar name is that of Stefano Bigi, creator of the sculpture table Infinity in black walnut and tempered crystal, an iconic Porada piece, today available in a wide range of different styles.

Last but not least, two international designers: Hans Sandgren Jakobsen and Emmanuel Gallina. At the last Salone del Mobile, the former, who combines the Porada tradition with Danish purity, presented Twist and Turn, a chair‑table set inspired by the masterpieces of Italian design of the 1950s, while the French designer, known and admired for the elegance and discretion of his designs, has created various new products for Porada. These include the Arena sofa and armchairs, characterised by a solid ash wood frame that cages in the comfort of the padded part, the Script coffee table, which combines wood, marble and glass, and the Lolita chair which, in a timeless language, tells the story of the Porada tradition and its great passion for wood, here embracing the structure of the chair as if it were a ring.
