Porada’s custom made furniture: made to measure furnishings that bring Italian style out to the world
Made in Italy, timeless designs, excellent production standards, hand‑crafted finishes: these are the qualities that have made Porada a rising star in the contract sector, a field which is expanding fast in international circles, both in Europe – especially London – and in the Far East, in countries such as Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The company’s clientele in this field consists of prestigious players from fields spanning the hospitality (hotels, airports and residences) trade (shops and restaurants), business and cultural sectors. Contract design involves creating tailor‑made furniture – capable of personalising the interiors of environments – which is not necessarily present in the company’s catalogue, such as, for example, the headboards created for hotels.
This challenge is met by the full commitment of the company on various levels, and in particular with a considerable effort on the part of production resulting in the “turnkey” packages, manufactured with the same care and passion as the standard Porada collections. In this regard, it is not surprising that the company has asked its designers to develop a second line, parallel to the main range, which would represent the Porada style worldwide.
The company has completed many projects to date, all of an exclusive nature: luxury hotels such as the Adriano Hotel Adler in Russia, the prestigious Les jardins d’Eiffelin Paris, the Four Seasons Canary Wharf Hotel in London and a large resort in Ghana. But its projects have also included several private homes (such as those in Cyprus and in South Africa) and even furniture for a school in Japan which, following the earthquake in 2011, asked Porada to create a number of mini‑desks, a challenge that the Allievi family and indeed the entire Porada team eagerly accepted, even although they had never produced a school desk before.
Today the contract market offers this challenge, and many other adventures, as it thrives on constantly remaining up‑to‑date and developing. The contract market is continuously evolving and it holds many new, exciting opportunities for growth for companies with a solid identity such as Porada.
