We all know - and if we forget a song reminds it to us: to make a table it takes wood. It's not enough, though. What sometimes escapes us is that it is not just a matter of raw material because first of all we need the skills to treat it and the passion to take care of it. A passion that does not translate only in the search for new experiments and in respect of traditional techniques, but also (or perhaps above all) in the ethical commitment of using wood and, of course, trees. It is precisely following this logic that Porada acquired in 2014 an area of 50 hectares in the heart of Bourgogne, in Saint Pierre le Moutier.

Medieval streets, windmills and huge stretches of green: Saint Pierre le Moutier, halfway between the Loire and Allier, is a romantic town, full of fairytale foreshortenings and surrounded by fields and forests. One of these has become the reserve of Porada: an important piece that is added to the Porada chain that makes its strengths of tradition and craftsmanship. The goal is, over time, to draw timber for production: after these first four years, the 50 hectares are starting to bear their first fruits, thus preparing themselves to become a precious resource of ash wood for the present as well as for the future.

Porada

In order to ensure sustainable wood production, the Saint Pierre le Moutier reserve is regulated by management and abatement plans that follow strict standards. There's more: Porada is committed to keeping the cutting percentages lower than the values already allowed. Respect for nature is the basic value of a company like Porada who knows wood well and therefore has the duty to protect it and use it in the most responsible way possible.

To date, the balance can only be said to be positive. To make a design object, in short, it takes a forest in the heart of France.
