February is the perfect time to start organizing your visit to the Salone del Mobile, before the last plane tickets and hotels are snatched up. If you’re thinking about coming to visit the Salone del Mobile 2018, this is the guide with all the information you’ll need, from dates to tickets and the hottest shows in this year’s program.

Dates and Hours

The Salone will take place from Tuesday, April 17th to Sunday the 22nd at the Milano-Rho Fairgrounds from 9:30-6:30. Open Monday to Friday for trade operators and Saturday and Sunday to the public.

What to See: Salone del Mobile and Salone Satellite

The International Salone del Mobile presents new innovative projects and high-quality furnishings together with the International Salone del Complemento d’Arredo. Boasting 2,000 expositors on display (30% of which are international) over a space of 200,000 square meters between extraordinary design, fabrics, and decor. Divided into three categories: “Classic: Tradition in the Future” drawing on craftsmanship and skill of the classic style (pavilions 4-2), “Design” looking to functionality and innovation (Pavilions 7-5-10-6-12-8-18-14-20-16), and “xLux” dedicated to timeless luxury (pavilions 1-3).

Now in its 20th edition, the Salone Satellite, dedicated to designers under 35 and their creative creations, will take place in a separate hall near pavilions 15 and 13, with a dedicated entrance from Cargo 4. Not to be missed, it’s a promising section devoted to younger designers, many of which go one to create their very own famous brands.

What to See: Eurocucina

As always, the International Salone dei Mobili for the Kitchen is back, an event accompanying the Salone every other year since 1974. This year, Eurocucina, showcasing the finest kitchens, will be displaying the best built-in appliances together with FTK- Technology for the Kitchen. See it all at Pavilions 9-11-13-15.

What to See: International Salone for the Bathroom

Discover all the biggest trends in the bathroom with this incredible section, the Salone for the Bathroom, which has become an autonomous exhibit taking place every other year since 2006. With countless developments, this event has evolved a great deal and deserves a visit. See it in Pavilions 22 and 24.

Who Organizes Everything?

The Salone del Mobile of Milan and Saloni Worldwide (in Moscow and Shanghai) are organized by Federlegno Arredo Eventi SpA, born in 2014 with the fusion of Cosmit Spa, which founded the Salone back in 1961, and Federlegno Arredi, a service company.

Tickets

Tickets for the Salone del Mobile are reserved for trade operators from Monday to Friday before opening to the public on Saturday and Sunday. They cost more on location, so be sure to buy online at a reduced price. One entry on-site will cost 35 euros, while it can be purchased online for just 26 euros. You can also buy tickets for entry to the fairgrounds together with public transportation tickets, and an event catalogue. How to Arrive

By metro: M1, red line to the Rho Fiera station with an “extraurbana” ticket

It’s also possible to get a day ticket for the fairgrounds at 7 euros, valid for 24 hours after validation with unlimited trips to and from Milan and the Rho Fiera station. These tickets can also be used for the other metro lines and all ATM transportation in Milan, including urban stretches operated by Trenord and the “Passante ferrovario”.
